Dieter Lake, QC
Dieter Lake, QC
The Dieter Lake Property has a NI 43-101 inferred resource totaling 24.4 million lbs U3O8 at an average grade of 0.057% U3O8. Fission hold a 100% interest in the property, which was acquired by as the result of a spin-off from Strathmore Minerals Ltd. in 2008. It is comprised of 968 contiguous mineral claims covering an area of 46,729 hectares, and is located approximately 150 kilometres north of Hydro Quebec Reservoir LG-4. Stornoway Diamond Corporation's Renard diamond project is situated approximately 350 km to the south-west of the Dieter Lake property. Quebec's Otish Mountain uranium district, including Strateco Resources' Matoush project and Abitex Resources' Lavoie deposit, is located less than 500 km to the south. Access is provided by helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft.

Exploration History
Significant exploration was carried out by Uranerz (Germany) in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Extensive mapping, sampling, and airborne and ground geophysical survey programs were completed. Approximately 145 drill holes outlined four primary zones of mineralization known as Vivian, Nancy I, Nancy II, and Berts.
Uranium mineralization at the Dieter Lake Property occurs in the form of fine-grained pitchblende accompanied by various sulphides, and with the presence of several metallic elements, including molybdenum. Possible styles of mineralization may include unconformity type, black shale type, and syngenetic stratabound type.
Fission staked several further groups of mineral claims at the property throughout 2011, based on results of geological mapping and the availability of ground newly re-opened by the Quebec government. The property is in good standing until 2012 and beyond.
The Dieter Lake Property exhibits excellent potential to expand the known resource base along strike as well as at depth. Furthermore, Fission's current land position encompasses approximately 88% of the Gayot Basin Outlier, providing the continued opportunity for further mineralized targets on the property.
RECENT WORK
In 2005 an all-weather project base camp was established on the property. A summer field exploration program consisted of geological mapping, geochemical sampling, rehabilitation of historic core and core racks, relogging and sampling of historic core, and a property-wide GEOTEM airborne survey.
A 2007 exploration program included further geological prospecting and examination of the property, ground scintillometer surveying and a high-resolution airborne radiometric/magnetic survey.
Follow-up outcrop sampling, extended ground scintillometer surveying and radon-flux surveying were performed during the 2008 exploration season.
2011 Work
On August 18, 2011 Fission commenced a C$1.2 Million, 2,000m summer drill program. The drill program plans to test an area east of Vivian Lake, where historical drilling yielded consistent, and relatively high-grade intercepts, ranging from approximately 400 to 3,700ppm U3O8, over thickness of 0.5 to 2.6 m. In addition to the planned drilling, reclogging and resampling of significant historic drill holes, and detailed ground magnetic surveys over the deposit area will be carried out. Results from the Dieter Lake summer 2011 exploration program, including drill core assay results and ground geophysics, are pending. The Dieter Lake Project will benefit from the development of the provincial Plan Nord integrated transportation network, including the extension of Route 167 northwards to the Otish Mountains and a feasibility study for a road or rail link southward from Kuujjuuaq.
